Today’s episode is with Sebastian Aguirre, OC-born songwriter and classically trained musician. He is currently working on his forthcoming album, with an exclusive piece featured here. Thank you Klatch Coffee in Rancho Cucamonga for the space!
This week I met with Bianca Ornelas – local muralist and illustrator whose political portraits have attracted a lot of attention in recent months. We met at our mutual favorite dba256 in Pomona, which was gracious enough to let us hang out for a few.
I met up with Mire at Rad Pro Studios in Ontario last week for a photo shoot and podcast. Our mutual friend Daniel Zuniga, projectionist and musician you’ll recognize from around town also joined us before the band headed in for rehearsal. Thanks again for having us!
Kriist Long is a multi-instrumentalist, former drummer with Harriers of Discord and is currently working on his own project, Quintessence. LaRae Ewing currently works in special needs education and has a history in the entertainment industry.
I spoke with Vinny Macias, former bassist of Jetpacks And Laser Guns (disbanded in 2015) and current filmmaker. We ran into each other a few weeks ago at Claremont Craft Ales after years of lost contact, so it was time to catch up on his work.
Thanks to Charlie’s Stars & Stripes in downtown Upland, CA for the hospitality!
Photos - Undead Prom @ Teragram Ballroom
I returned to Teragram last night to cover Smoke Season, Bahari and Kid Bloom for the Undead Prom. The only two people I saw who dressed up weren’t even together and Bahari was quick to point out the lack of participation. I totally forgot.
Here are some photos from the night in order – Bahari, Smoke Season + Kid Bloom. I’m still playing with format here, so bear with me.
Feature: Colin Magalong is all about the “Melo”
Are the 90’s retro yet? Colin Magalong may be onto that notion with his latest visual take on “Melo”, redefining what Saul Williams once described as “dancing in our apartment to the music of our hearts”. VHS charm leads the theme for a slow track that listens like a slow funk jam. A night together doesn’t have to be complicated so long as your arms around each other. Watch below.
Colin’s debut EP is out now on Made In The Shade
